Responsible Investment Forum

On 28 Feb 2017, Social Enterprise Research Institute organized the ‘Responsible Investment Forum’ and gathered more than 150 political, business and academic leaders to promote social caring. 

Under the theme of ‘Responsible Investment’, the 3 guest speakers, Ms Jessica Robinson, Senior Advisor of Principles of Responsible Investment Association, Dr Jeanne Ng, Director, CLP Group Sustainability, and Hauman Yeung, Director of Ascent Partners, were invited give speeches about corporate environment, society and corporate governance to encourage individuals and organizations to include sustainable investment, investment responsibility and community investment into the decision making of investment.

Ms. Jessica Robinson

Ms Robinson explained the six principles of responsible investment in the forum and the development of responsible investment in Asian regions. She also emphasized the development direction of green finance and low carbon investment in China’s “13th Five-Year Plan”, and the path of responsible investment in the next decade.

Dr Ng explained Asian investment in sustainable energy in the forum. She mentioned the importance of balancing environmental, social and governance in the development of energy and she shared her company’s experience in wind energy in China and India.

Director of Ascent Partners, Mr. Hauman Yeung

Mr Yeung explained the details of ‘good governance of corporate’ in the forum. Through the case of a pulp mill in Henan Province, China, he highlighted how to combine business development and environmental protection.
